Summary:
Under general supervision, prepares media and/or reagents for use in performing routine analysis of samples.
Performs routine laboratory tests and procedures under appropriate supervision.
Operates and assists in maintaining lab equipment.
responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Monitors, adjusts, records, and maintains correct settings of laboratory equipment.
Prepares media and reagents, monitoring and recording of daily reagents.
Receives and logs samples into laboratory information systems.
Collects samples for testing.
Receives, dries, stores, protects, and processes products.
Receives and prepare laboratory samples for analysis, following proper protocols in order to ensure that they are stored, prepared, and disposed of efficiently and effectively.
This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience in a laboratory setting or a related area OR One year of experience required at the lower-level Laboratory Tech 1 (LST030) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Experience with CLIA requirements and licensing procedures.
Public Health experience preferred.
Note:
Some positions may require licensure.
Work Conditions & Physical Demands:
This position does not require a lot of physical exertion.
May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs.
Not always a sedentary position but will require some walking to/from and in/out of chair.
It does require flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary, and some outreach.
Salary Information:
$23,397 Annually / Pay Grade E Cobb and Douglas Public Health a nationally accredited health department, headquartered in Marietta, Georgia since 1920 promotes and protects the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties in partnership with several other agencies.
